Pakistan is the true representation of a breathtaking landscapes and majestic mountains. One of them is Deosai Plains.
White-tip mountains, majestic, stand tall.
Images of trees, reflections of clouds in blue.
Birds in flight look down to see years gone by,
years still to see.
It won’t be an exaggeration if i say that this poem is the perfect example of Deosoi plain. High in the Western Himalayas cradled in the Karakorum mountains of northern Pakistan lies the plateau known as the land of giants. It is about 13,497 ft above the sea level. It is spread over an area of 3,000 square kilometers.
The Deosai plateau is the second highest plateau in the world. It remains covered in snow for about 8 months. For the rest of 4 months, spring is in full swing and the whole plateau is covered with beautiful flowers. Even then you won’t find a single tree there.
Establishment of Deosai National Park :
The Himalayan bear is found in Deosai plains. To protect it’s survival the national part was established in 1993. Their were once 10,000 Himalayan bears at one time in northern Pakistan and that number has diminished considerably and thus it is one of the threatened species in Asia. That’s why the national park was established here in 1993 to protect it’s survival. It is the only national park in the whole South Asia that can claim an increasing population of brown bears.

It is also called heart of Deosai plains. It is one of the highest lakes in the world. The crystal clean water is enough to replace your mirror. The lush green grass surrounds the lake making it one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The deep blue color of the lake makes everyone forget about everything around him.
